Summer Day Camp: July 5- July 28, 2023
The primary aim of HNPEA is to provide an affordable, enriching program that builds campers self-confidence through exposure to the arts, recreational activities and Maine heritage. Core programming includes tennis lessons from a certified instructor, arts and crafts and field games. By taking advantage of Harpswell's extensive coastline and wooded trails, the program also seeks to heighten children's awareness of the environment in which they live. It aims to emphasize healthy lifestyles not only through physical activity, but also through learning about the benefits (and enjoying!) good nutrition.
When not in use by the day camp, the tennis courts and the basketball court are available to the general public at no cost. In the past, HNPEA has run round-robin tournaments and tennis clinics open to anyone. In collaboration with the Town of Harpswell Recreation Department, we organized a well-attended tennis and pickle ball clinic held at the Harpswell Community School.
